CRYoPEN

Cryopen® is a benign skin lesion treatment. Cryotherapy literally means ‘cold therapy’, and in the case of the Cryopen, advanced cryotherapy technology delivers an ultra-cold jet of high-pressure Nitrous Oxide directly onto benign skin lesions, freezing and killing the target cells with pin point accuracy, allowing removal of benign (non-cancerous) lesions of varying sizes without affecting the surrounding, healthy tissue, with minimal if any scarring.

TREATABLE LESIONS

  • Skin tags

  • Benign moles

  • Warts

  • Verrucae

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Seborrheic keratoses

  • Sun spots

As a fully registered and practicing GP, Dr Anna can treat lesions such as these anywhere on the body.

Benefits

Removal of cosmetically bothersome and irritating benign skin lesions

Results

Initially the lesion may be a little red and swollen for a week or so, and the lesion usually drops off after a week or two.  Larger and more stubborn lesions such as large moles, warts and verrucae may need 2-3 treatments for full resolution. Some lesions may leave a small pink area which should fade over a month or so, like any healing skin trauma might, but most eventually heal with little to no scarring.

YOUR Consultation

You will have a full consultation with Dr Anna to discuss your needs and expectations, to thoroughly examine the lesion(s) to determine suitability for treatment, and to devise a tailored treatment plan.

We also offer a review two weeks after the initial treatment, to discuss results and to plan / carry out any further treatment.

CRYoPEN Process

Treatment

After a thorough assessment and examination, if the lesion is suitable to treat, the area is cleaned, frozen for several seconds (duration depends on size of lesion), allowed to thaw for a few minutes, then frozen again for 5-60 seconds.

Post-treatment

You do not have to avoid anything after treatment, but you are advised to keep the area clean if it blisters, try not to pick any scabs if it scabs during the healing process, and try to avoid any excess rubbing of the area for the first week to allow it to heal smoothly.
